Here’s What PPF Is All About
PPF is all about you, the streamer. The more of you that are out there successfully supporting yourself streaming the more stream binge watching we can do. Our goal is to be the Navi to your Link (though hopefully nowhere near as annoying).
Hey, I’m Galen the founder of Pajama Pants Finance. If you’ve ever asked these questions:
- What does it take to run your stream as a business?
- How do I manage different income streams and stop my expenses from overwhelming me?
- How do I optimize my business?
- What does it take to keep my stream running while staying passionate and engaged? How do I avoid losing that spark that made me love streaming in the first place?
Or just need someone to talk to and ask any questions, you’re in the right place. Our current focus is Twitch but we’re open to questions from streamers on any platform.
Here’s How We Help
“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.” – Steve Jobs
We believe that you can succeed as a streamer if you put in the time streaming, learning, building a dedicated audience, and networking. But what do you do after you’ve gotten your Twitch partnership or are supporting yourself off of your streaming income? What next steps do you take?
Instead of trying to figure it all out on your own or just ignoring these questions, subscribe to PPF (it’s free!) and you’ll get great tips and strategies from streamers who have walked the path before you and of course me. I’m working on my own streaming journey but my background in personal finance positions me to offer unique advice covering both disciplines.
And the best part? I’ll cut through the clutter to give you what you really need. If something still isn’t clear I’m here to answer questions. Dealing with your finances can be stressful but it doesn’t have to be.
Is there any reason you can’t stream and get the answers you need while sitting at home in your pajama pants? It’s what I do and you can too.
“It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.” – Herman Melville
I’m really good at: managing household finances, student loans, investing, taxes, and consuming enough video game content to make my wife concerned for my sanity.
I’m working on: becoming an expert at running a business, streaming, video production, writing, and meeting people in the E-sports and streaming scenes.
I have always had an obsession with video games. I managed to play whatever was newest despite not having a game system myself. WoW basically consumed my college life and when I moved halfway across the country for a new job I found my friends in the StarCraft club at work. Currently I’m playing Darkest Dungeon, Overwatch, Faster Than Light, Civ 6, and The Witcher 2 and I watch professional DotA 2 and StarCraft whenever I can.
I took an interest in personal finance after getting engaged. I had a decent job and didn’t really hurt for money but I’d never actually seen my net worth or thought about what I was saving for. Getting married changed my mind and awakened me to my responsibility (it also gave me an awesome opportunity to add a gaming flair to my wedding cake). That’s when I realized personal finance was really interesting so I nerded out hard! I went back to school to get my MBA in Financial Planning. That led to working with a traditional firm for a year and while the financial planning piece was interesting there was something missing.
I view this site as my opportunity to give back by combining two of my passions. If I can make it easier for people to earn a living from streaming then I make it easier for myself to always have interesting people to watch!
